Every good restaurant has a story. Ours begins on the coasts of Egypt — travelling thousands of kilometres across six countries and one shared sea, all the way to the beach of Ahlbeck.
The beginning
From Alexandria
to the Baltic coast
Atef El Bastaweisy grew up on the coasts of Egypt, surrounded by the aromas and colours of the orient. The cuisine of his homeland — generous, honest, full of spice and stories — shaped him long before he opened his first restaurant.
But Egypt was only the start. His journey carried him along the shores of the Mediterranean: to Tunisia, where he learned the art of spices. To Sicily, where he discovered how simplicity becomes celebration. To Mykonos, where Greek hospitality taught him that good food is always an invitation to linger. And to the Turkish Riviera near Antalya, where orient and Mediterranean melt on the plate.
One thing connected every stop: the Mediterranean.

Many years ago Atef came to Germany. In his luggage: recipes from six countries, passed down over generations, and a vision to bring them all together in one place.
On the beach promenade of Ahlbeck the vision became reality. Here we serve you Egyptian koshari alongside crispy pinsa from the oven. Creamy hummus with Tunisian harissa next to Greek moussaka. Oriental falafel alongside pasta al scampi.
And everything is prepared fresh in our open show kitchen. You see how your meal is made — with passion, with the best ingredients, no compromises.
